MR. TRIPP MURPHY (Technical Director), a native of Philadelphia, is a Social Studies teacher and technical director at Annapolis High School. Tripp is a graduate from UMBC ('09) with a Bachelor's Degree in History, Minor in Theater and a Secondary Education Certification. He is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction at McDaniel College. Mr. Murphy is a member of the International Thespian Society and has been involved in theater for over 10 years working many shows in High School and College, including a production at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2004. His first show with the AHS Drama Company was in the Spring of 2010, the award winning The Wedding Singer. Mr. Murphy also serves on the Baltimore Cappies Steering Committee and as the technical director for the 2013 Cappies Gala in Baltimore. Mr. Murphy would like to thank his amazing fiance for all of her help and support.
MR. ANDREW PARR (Director/Cappies Mentor) is a graduate of Millersville University of Pennsylvania ('13) with a degree in English BSE with a Linguistics focus and a minor in German and Theatre. He has dabbled in various theatrical mediums including writing, junior theatre, dance (aerial, tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballroom), plays, musicals, stage design/production, and Shakespearean theatre. Andrew has studied devised theatre using Frantic Assembly and Complicité theatre companies methodology and is certified to teach IB Theatre. He is the Program Chairman for the Cappies of Baltimore, an international high school theatre awards and critic program, and teaches private theatre and dance at the local Studio 180. His most recent acting opportunity was with The Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre in the ensemble. Mr. Parr is absolutely thrilled to be working with the teachers, students and of course the Drama Company and cannot wait to begin rehearsal. On a more personal note, he enjoys frivolous musicals, long walks on the stage, and beautiful backdrops with the right lighting.
MS. ERIN LORENZ (Director/Thespian Advisor) is a Maryland native, born and raised in Bowie. At last count, Erin has performed, choreographed, or directed around 40 productions. She graduated from Towson University (2006) with a Bachelor’s in English/Secondary Education and a minor in Theater. More recently, she earned a Master of Arts in Theater Education from the Catholic University of America in 2011. She taught middle school English for seven years in Montgomery County where she also directed the school’s spring musical; in her remaining spare time, she also participates in community theater productions. Erin is very excited to be joining the Annapolis High School Drama Company team!
